OM473有资料吗?能介绍介绍吗?
The technology of the Mercedes-Benz new top-power engine is based on the same platform as the 12.8 litre OM 471 but with an increased capacity of 15.6-litres wth outputs up to 625hp and up to 3,000 Nm of torque.
Mercedes-Benz now have a Euro 6 range from the 156hp 5.1 litre up to the new 625hp 15.6 litre V6.
At 1,600 rpm, the rated engine speed is unusually low, whilst the maximum torque is between 2,600 Nm and 3,000 Nm. Just above idle speed, approximately 2,500 Nm is available at just 800 rpm in all versions. That is a higher torque than the maximum torque achieved by most engines in heavy trucks.
Depending on the version, the engine achieves between 0.5 per cent and 1.5 per cent lower consumption than the previous engine, the V8-cylinder Mercedes-Benz OM 502.
Series production will begin in Mannheim in September this year and will be seen in the Actros and Arocs ranges.
The OM 473 uses turbocompounding – essentially a second turbine located downstream of the exhaust gas turbocharger. It uses the exhaust gas temperature which is maintained after the gas has flowed through the main turbocharger. The power is transferred via a shaft and a hydrodynamic clutch to the engine’s gear drive and thus directly to the crankshaft.
The driver can feel the turbocompound technology directly by the even more eager response of the engine, even in the low rev range. At the same time, a consumption advantage of approximately two per cent is achieved at high load.
The OM 473 is relatively compact, at 1,425 mm long (without fans), 1,128 mm wide and 1,212 mm high and weighs in at 1,284 kg at Euro 6.
The block has already been in use in the shape of the Daimler-Owned Detroit Diesel for five years with more than 100,000 units in use.
The European version differs from the American powerplants by more than 200 parts. |
